What a day it was for the Behind the Smile team.
On Sunday 20th of September, a team of 12 incredible people took on our 10.5 mile end to end Malvern Hills Challenge, and they did it brilliantly.
Starting at North Quarry Car Park, the team walked the full length of the Malvern Hills ridge, taking in all 15 peaks before the final push up to Chase End Hill. Along the way they faced steep climbs, tough descents and over 6,000ft of elevation gain, with stunning views across the countryside to keep them going. It wasn't easy, but with determination, teamwork and plenty of encouragement from one another, every single one of them made it to the finish.
A big well done to everyone who took part. You should all be incredibly proud of what you achieved.
This walk meant far more than a personal challenge. The team walked in memory of Zac Pritchard, whose life and spirit inspired his family to set up Behind the Smile. The charity provides peer support for people living with poor mental health and for those bereaved by suicide, through weekly peer support groups, a suicide bereavement group, craft afternoons and wellbeing walks. Its aim is simple and powerful: to make sure people find the support they need, when they need it. Every step taken on the hills was for those who have been lost and those still fighting.

12 people. 10.5 miles. 15 peaks. One day none of us will forget.
