This iconic mountain challenge takes on the highest peaks in three regions of Wales in a single day, combining endurance, teamwork and travel between ranges. The route links Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan, delivering a demanding yet achievable adventure for fit walkers.
The Peaks
- Snowdon (1,085m/3,559ft) – Known for its pyramidal peak and unique wildlife.
- Cadair Idris (893m/2,929ft) – Named the "Chair of Idris" after a mythical Giant from Welsh Legend.
- Pen y Fan (886m/2,906ft) – The highest peak in South Wales, with views of a glacial lake.
Route:
- The challenge begins in North Wales with the ascent of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Climbed via established mountain paths, the route reaches Snowdon’s distinctive pyramidal summit, home to rare alpine wildlife and far reaching views.
- From Snowdonia, the challenge moves south to Cadair Idris in Mid Wales. Known as the Chair of Idris, this rugged peak is climbed via well defined trails, offering dramatic scenery and a strong sense of isolation.
- The final ascent takes place in the Brecon Beacons, where Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in South Wales, provides a fitting finish. The climb rewards walkers with views across the Central Beacons and the nearby glacial lake of Llyn Cwm Llwch.
