On Thursday 1 October 2026, Your Adventure Challenge had the pleasure of guiding a team of 14 people from HWH Law Worcester on the Brecon Horseshoe, a full day in the mountains that tested their fitness, resilience and teamwork across three of the finest summits in Wales.
Unlike many of the challenges we run, this was not a charity fundraiser. It was a corporate team challenge, organised so the HWH Law team could step away from the office, take on something difficult together and come home with a shared achievement they won't forget.
The day began with a steep climb straight up onto the Graig Fan Ddu ridge. It was a tough start, but the team were rewarded almost immediately with sweeping views over the reservoirs and valleys below. Once on the ridge, the gradient eased and the group followed the dramatic escarpment edge northwards, with sheer drops on one side and open moorland on the other.
The first summit of the day was Corn Du (873m), where the team could look back along the ridge they had just walked. From there, a short climb took them to Pen y Fan (886m), the highest mountain in southern Britain, and the perfect spot for lunch, photos and a well-earned rest.
Then came the hardest part of the day. After a steep descent to the saddle, the team faced the relentless climb up Cribyn, the toughest ascent on the route. This is where teamwork really mattered, and with plenty of encouragement, everyone made it to the top. From the final summit, the group looked back across the horseshoe of peaks they had conquered, then made their way down past Bwlch ar y Fan and along the old route back down the valley to the finish.
10 miles, 3 peaks and around 800 metres of climbing later, the team crossed the finish line with tired legs and plenty to celebrate.
