This is a charity challenge for Snowdon and Lake Bala "Peak to Paddle" taken on by The Hive Youth Zone. The team will hike to the summit of Snowdon before taking to the water for a tandem canoe challenge across Lake Bala, navigating stunning scenery while working together every step (and paddle) of the way.

One Epic Challenge, Countless Memories

  • 06:00
    • An early start as we set off together, ready for the day ahead.
  • 08:00 
    • Take on the Ranger Path (medium to hard difficulty) and reach the summit—an incredible achievement to kick off the challenge.
  • 11:15
    • Head back down as a team, taking in the stunning mountain scenery.
  • 13:45 
    • Time to change, refuel, and enjoy your packed lunch on the minibus.
  • 14:00 
    • Travel by minibus to the next stage of your adventure.
  • 15:00 
    • Receive your canoes and take part in a full water safety briefing.
  • 15:30 
    • Work in pairs to tackle a 12km tandem canoe across the lake—teamwork is key!
  • 18:30 
    • Complete the challenge, enjoy well-earned refreshments, photos and your medal presentation.
  • 19:00
    • Depart back to The Hive.
  • 20:30
    • Arrive back, tired but proud after an unforgettable day.

This challenge is open to anyone with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoys being active and spending time outdoors.  Teams of any size are welcome to take part, whether you’re a small group or a full company team.

You don’t need any previous canoeing experience—everything you need will be provided on the day, along with full instruction and expert safety support from our professional team.

To help you feel fully prepared and confident, you’ll also take part in a dedicated canoeing training session a few weeks before the event at Liverpool Docks. In addition, you’ll receive training support from the event organiser, including nutritional guidance and exercise advice to help you get the most out of your preparation and the challenge itself.
